Sometimes all you want to do is spend some time with your friends and go to the movies. Which is exactly what my gal pals and I did yesterday to celebrate Galentine’s Day!
We thought we’d treat ourselves and have some fun seeing 50 Shades Darker, the second movie in the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy. While none of us loved the movie (let’s just say they might not be winning any Oscars at the end of the month) it was still cool to see a movie in a Danish theater specifically the Palads Teatret.
The Palads Teatret is only a few blocks away from the street where my classes are so it’s right in the center of Copenhagen and easy to get to. It’s also probably one of the most recognizable buildings in the city because the outside of the building is painted in tons of bright colors like pink, orange, and blue!
The inside is even prettier because there’s a huge staircase in the middle leading up to the theaters on the second floor with gorgeous chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. It generally has this great feel of a 1920s mansion, almost like the Great Gatsby, with every expense paid for at the highest quality.
But the best part of this theater? The concession stand that is really its own candy store! There’s an M&M dispenser where you can fill up your own bag of candies plus every other type of candy where its boxed or in a bag! I restrained myself from buying anything before the movie but if I go back to see any more movies I might not be this strong. 😀
